SHOPPING CENTRE DEVELOPMENTS

St David’s 2, Cardiff

Photograph of St David’s 2, Cardiff

A retail-led mixed-use city centre scheme, where we are working in a 50:50 joint venture partnership with Land Securities PLC. Cardiff Council is the freeholder.

Outline planning consent has been obtained. A reserved matters application has now been made.

Due for completion in 2009, St. David’s 2 is an excellent example of a true mixed-use city centre project combining retail, restaurants, cafés, new residential apartments and a refurbished public library. The masterplan proposals are carefully designed to respect the traditional street pattern and integrate with the historic arcades to encourage pedestrian permeability from all areas of the city. The proposals for the public realm include four new open spaces, with a specialist landscape architect being employed to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach.

  • 967,500 sq ft (89,881 sq m) of retail space
  • John Lewis department store
  • 128 Major stores and a range of other units
  • Leisure
  • 308 Residential units
  • Public amenities
  • 3,000 car spaces
